I am Audrey Kodye, a seasoned Sunni Muslim Registered Psychologist and Islamic counsellor who provides virtual therapy services for Muslim women in Iqaluit.

I offer a warm, compassionate, and supportive space where Muslim women can feel safe to openly share their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without fear of judgment. By integrating halal evidence-based psychological approaches with Islamic values, we will work together to help you better understand your challenges, learn and master strategies that offer lasting results, and find hope, resilience, and inner peace, insha’Allah.

Audrey Kodye, Islamic counsellor serving Muslim women in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada.

Iqaluit is home to a small, tight-knit Muslim population of about 100 people. The Muslim community in Iqaluit is diverse and is made up of  individuals and families from different backgrounds who face unique geographic and cultural realities in the Arctic, making their experience of Islam highly distinct. While the local community can provide a meaningful sense of connection, belonging, and support, for many Muslim women, seeking mental health support can feel especially difficult because of the lack of faith-based and culturally responsive services. Some may worry about being judged, misunderstood, or having their experiences dismissed, making it harder to reach out for help.

As a Sunni Muslim Registered Psychologist and founder of Overcome Anxiety Psychological Services, based in Edmonton, AB, I specialize in Islamic counselling and understand how important it is for Muslim women in Iqaluit to have access to therapy that is both professionally informed and grounded in Islam. My approach is rooted in the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah while integrating evidence-based therapeutic approaches that are Islamically aligned. Together, we will address the emotional and psychological challenges you may be facing while nurturing your relationship with Allah ﷻ. My goal is to support your emotional well-being in a way that honours both your mental health and the values of our Deen, insha’Allah.

As a Francophone Muslim woman, I understand the challenges you have as a French-speaking Muslim woman in Iqaluit to find a suitable islamic counsellor who can interact in the language that feels most natural to you. I lived and studied in France, as well as resided, studied, and worked in French-speaking communities across Canada. As a result of my experiences, I am able to offer therapy in French that is grounded in Islamic values, creating a space where you can feel comfortable and supported.

Starting Islamic counselling can feel intimidating, particularly when you have been managing everything on your own for so long. Choosing to reach out is a courageous act of self-care, and insha’Allah, it can become a pathway toward healing, insight, and renewed emotional balance.

If you are a Muslim woman in Iqaluit who is looking for an experienced and dedicated “Islamic counsellor near me” who honours both your psychological wellbeing and our Islamic values, I am here to accompany you in this journey with empathy, while maintaining your confidentiality.
