Muslim therapist serving Muslim women in Cape Breton
From the outside, it looks like you have things under control. You fulfil your responsibilities, care for others, and keep moving forward. Yet beneath the surface, anxiety, low mood, guilt, and emotional exhaustion are making daily life increasingly difficult.
You have tried to push through. You have prayed, distracted yourself, stayed busy, and hoped that time would make things easier. Yet the struggles keep returning because they need more than temporary relief.
Deep down, you know you need more than another coping strategy. You long for genuine healing, lasting peace, and a way forward that honours both your mental wellbeing and your faith in Allah.
If this resonates with you, I am truly glad you are here. Seeking support is not a sign of weakness; it is often the first step toward healing. By Allah’s permission, meaningful and lasting change is possible.
I am Audrey Kodye, a Registered Psychologist, and Sunni Muslim therapist who serves Muslim women in Cape Breton through online sessions. I have been helping women like you for 13 years.
This isn’t a place where you will find yourself talking in circles. As your Muslim therapist, my priority is to ensure that you feel that this space is 100% emotionally safe and that the focus is truly your well-being in both this dunya and the akhirah. I will show up with a lot of compassion and provide a listening ear, to profoundly understand what led you to where you are at today.
Cape Breton is home to a close-knit and diverse Muslim community, where connection and a sense of belonging can be deeply meaningful. At the same time, in a smaller community, seeking mental health support can sometimes feel difficult or uncomfortable, particularly when concerns about stigma, privacy, or being recognized by someone you know may arise. Yet anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, and emotional struggles are a very real part of the human experience and deserve compassionate and professional support.
As a Muslim therapist and Registered Psychologist based in Edmonton, Alberta, I provide specialized therapy for Muslim women across Nova Scotia through secure and confidential online sessions. My approach is rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah and informed by evidence-based psychological approaches, allowing you to work on your mental and emotional well-being without having to set your faith aside in the therapy room.
Between work, family responsibilities and other commitments, finding time for self-care can be challenging. No matter where you are in Cape Breton, you can access compassionate, professional, and Islamically aligned psychological support from the privacy of your own home.
For many people, being able to speak about deeply personal experiences in their first language can make therapy feel more natural and comfortable. As a francophone Muslim woman, I understand this personally. Having lived and studied in France, as well as within French-speaking communities in Canada, I understand some of the cultural nuances and experiences that can shape the lives of francophone Muslims. I am honoured to offer Islamic therapy in French, creating a space where you can feel understood and at ease expressing yourself in the language that comes most naturally to you.

Reaching out for therapy is not always easy, particularly when you have been managing your struggles on your own for a long time. Yet seeking support can be an important first step toward healing, greater emotional well-being, and the peace you have been longing for, insha’Allah.
