When did “I’m okay” become something you say simply because you don’t know what else to say?
You continue taking care of your family, managing your responsibilities, supporting the people around you, and carrying on with everyday life—even when you feel anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted, or emotionally disconnected. You may have become very skilled at appearing okay while quietly struggling underneath.
Therapy can provide a place where you no longer have to navigate those difficulties alone. Through Islamic mental health counselling, we can take the time to understand the thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and life experiences contributing to what you’re going through. Your faith can remain an important part of that process, with an Islamic perspective thoughtfully incorporated alongside evidence-based psychological care.
You don’t have to carry everything silently. Your pain is not insignificant simply because you’ve learned how to function through it. You deserve support, compassion, and the opportunity to care for yourself, too.

I am Audrey Kodye, a Registered Psychologist, and Sunni Islamic Mental Health Counsellor who offers virtual therapy services for Muslim women in Sherbrooke. I have been helping women like you for 13 years.

You deserve more than a place to talk about your struggles—you deserve support that helps you move forward. Together, we will identify what you want to change, set meaningful and realistic goals, and use evidence-based strategies to help you make progress. We will regularly review your progress so you can recognize your growth and see how far you have come, insha’Allah.

In Sherbrooke, the active local Muslim population has grown to roughly 9,000 strong, frequently outpacing the capacity of the area’s existing islamic services. Even though the small community provides a sense of belonging and support, finding proper islamic mental health services is still a challenge for many muslim women. The stigma and fears of judgment, misunderstanding, or criticism from family, friends, can also be a barrier to seek help.
For many Muslim women, meaningful therapy means having their emotional well-being and their relationship with Allah ﷻ considered together. With 13 years of experience in mental health, I offer an approach that brings Islamic principles from the Qur’an and Sunnah into conversation with evidence-based psychological strategies. The result is a therapeutic space where professional psychological care and your faith can work hand in hand.

Wherever you live in Sherbrooke, you can now access specialized, Islamically integrated psychological support that will allow you to prioritize your mental health and strengthen your relationship with Allah ﷻ while balancing work, school, family life, and other responsibilities.

French flag to represent the francophone community in Sherbrooke where Audrey Kodye offers virtual counselling for Muslim Women
As a francophone Muslim woman, I recognize the importance of having a therapist who understands both your language and the cultural nuances that shape your experiences. Having lived for many years in French-speaking communities across Canada, I appreciate the unique experiences, values, and challenges that many francophone Muslims encounter. I am honoured to offer Islamic counselling in French which is the dominant language in Sherbrooke.

You have spent enough time simply surviving, pushing through, and telling yourself that you should be able to handle it. What you need now is not another reminder to be patient or another strategy to try on your own, but a space where you can genuinely be heard. Therapy can help you understand the patterns that keep you feeling stuck, work through painful experiences, and develop a healthier relationship with yourself and the challenges you face.

If finding a therapist who understands both your emotional world and your Muslim identity has been difficult, you are not alone. As a Muslim woman in Sherbrooke, you may be looking for an “Islamic mental health counsellor near me” who understands that faith can be an important source of meaning, guidance, and healing. My approach integrates evidence-based therapy with Islamic principles so that your mental health and your relationship with Allah ﷻ can be supported together, insha’Allah.
