Muslim therapist serving Muslim women in Gatineau

Beautiful city of Gatineau, where Audrey Kodye Muslim Therapist offers online sessions for Muslim Women.

You’ve become very good at carrying so much inside while continuing to show up for your family and fulfilling your responsibilities. You’re trying to keep moving forward despite feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, and tired of trying to hold everything together.

You’ve been dealing with persistent worry, low mood, self-doubt, guilt and a heaviness you cannot quite put into words. For months you’ve been telling yourself that things will eventually get better and you’ve been trying to manage on your own.

What you need is a safe place to slow down, understand what you are experiencing, and work through the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that are keeping you stuck.

If that is where you find yourself today, I am glad you are here. Reaching out for support is not a sign that your iman is weak or that you have failed to cope. It may simply be the step that allows you to begin understanding yourself, healing what has been hurting, and moving toward greater peace, strength, emotional well-being and connection with Allah ﷻ.

I am Audrey Kodye, a Registered Psychologist, and Sunni Muslim therapist who offers online therapy services for Muslim women in Gatineau. I have been helping women like you for 13 years.

Therapy is about more than simply talking about what is difficult. It is about helping you move toward meaningful change. As your Muslim therapist, I will work with you to identify what you want to improve, support you in taking practical steps forward, and regularly measure your progress so you can see the difference our work is making, insha’Allah.

The muslim population in Gatineau is fast-growing and has nearly doubled over a decade. Many community organizations are working to provide proper Islamic services and support; however, seeking Muslim therapy can still be daunting for Muslim women. We may fear judgement from our peers and the community itself, making it challenging to reach out for help.

As a African woman and Muslim revert, I understand the challenges and complexity of finding an effective, faith-based therapy service provided by a warm, compassionate and supportive muslim therapist. That’s why I decided to make the servives I provide at Overcome Anxiety Psychological Services, which is based in Edmonton, AB, entirely online.

Virtual therapy provides a confidential and flexible way to care for your mental and emotional well-being while balancing work, school, family life, and other responsibilities. From Halifax to communities across Nova Scotia, you can meet with me from the comfort and privacy of home through secure video sessions—without the commute, parking, or hassle of fitting another appointment into your busy day.

As someone who is both francophone and Muslim, I recognize how meaningful it can be to work with a therapist who understands your language, culture, and faith. For those who feel more comfortable sharing their thoughts and emotions in French, I am happy to provide Islamic therapy in French, offering a space where language and cultural familiarity can be part of the therapeutic experience.

Reaching out for therapy can be a meaningful decision, particularly when you have become accustomed to managing everything on your own. You have spent years putting your needs aside, questioning your feelings, or simply trying to keep going. Yet asking for support can open the door to greater clarity, emotional healing, and renewed hope, insha’Allah.

If you are a Muslim woman in Gatineau looking for a “Muslim therapist near me” who recognizes that your faith is an important part of who you are, I would be honoured to walk alongside you. Through a compassionate, effective, and Islamically aligned approach, we can work together toward greater emotional well-being and a stronger sense of peace, insha’Allah.
